Hey kid, wanna toothpick?

Nicolas Winding Refn’s new getaway thriller Drive is a taught, fizzy fairy tale, a modern myth-making escape that brings European art house aesthetics to downtown L.A. action.

The soundtrack features minimal electronic compositions by frequent Steven Soderbergh-collaborator Cliff Martinez and ’80s-hugging dream pop artists like College and Chromatics. The music sets a gripping, epic tone for what star Ryan Gosling calls “Pretty in Pink with a face smash.” It’s enough to make anyone a little bolder behind the wheel.
