Johnny and Hunter are together again. Watch the first trailer for the adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s The Rum Diary, the late writer’s first novel written in 1959 but not published until 1998 after Johnny Depp discovered the manuscript while living in Thompson’s basement in preparation for his role in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Say, did you know that Thompson released an eclectic mixtape called Where Were You When the Fun Stopped? It includes “Hula Hula Boys” by Warren Zevon and “The Weight” by The Band plus rarer tracks by Howlin’ Wolf and Robert Mitchum. Go Gonzo.
