Arise! Arise! He cried so loud

I guess Levi’s makes good jeans. Not sure. I am far more familiar with the brand’s underrated Pioneer Sessions series, and in particular The Dirty Projector’s strummy, lilting cover of the Bob Dylan deep cut “I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine.” The song is from Dylan’s gothically rootsy, post-motorcycle accident retreat record John Wesley Harding, and you can listen to the cover tune here, and watch the making-of video, too.

American Thrift will host Bob Dylan’s 70th Birthday Bash on May 24, featuring 10 Louisiana artists each covering their choice of Dylan songs. Songs chosen already include “Just Like a Woman,” “Boots of Spanish Leather,” “Mama, You’ve Been on My Mind,” and many more. So come out you gifted kings and queens…
